Funding is provided for investment measures to optimize the energy efficiency of industrial and commercial facilities and processes, and to use heat from renewable energies and waste heat for commercial processes in companies.

• Process and procedure conversions to efficient technologies and energy optimization of production processes
• Measures for waste heat utilization, such as the integration of waste heat for the provision of heat, including all measures required for this at the plants
• Measures at plants for heat supply, cooling and ventilation, if these are predominantly used directly for processes for the production, further processing or refinement of products
• Measures for the energy-efficient provision of process heat or cooling
• Measures to prevent energy losses in the production process, such as insulation of equipment and distribution lines, hydraulic optimization, replacement of compressed air lines
• Preparation of a savings concept and implementation support for the subsidized investment measures

The aim of promoting transformation plans is to support companies in planning and implementing their own transformation towards greenhouse gas neutrality. The key components of a transformation plan include a catalogue of specific company-specific measures whose implementation will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This Module  promotes the replacement of existing production facilities powered by natural gas, coal or mineral oil or by energy sources derived from natural gas, coal or fossil oil (mineral oil) with new facilities powered by electricity or renewable energies. Not only replacement, but also the corresponding conversion of existing facilities is eligible for funding.

Purpose of the funding

• Funding for electrification measures in small businesses. Funding is available for the replacement of existing systems that run on natural gas, coal or fossil oil (mineral oil) or energy sources derived from natural gas, coal or fossil oil (mineral oil) with new systems that run exclusively on electricity.
• In addition, funding is available for the conversion of systems powered by natural gas, coal or fossil oil (mineral oil) or energy sources derived from natural gas, fossil oil (mineral oil) or coal so that they can be powered by electricity.
• The amount of funding is 33% of the eligible investment costs.

• The amount of funding is 33% of the eligible investment costs.
• The investment volume must be at least 2,000 euros.
• For measures that are technically, economically and administratively related, a maximum total grant of 200,000 euros may be applied for under Module 6. This also applies if these related measures are spread over several funding applications.
